Automotive Engineering cut off mark, Jamb combination and Entry Requirements, ABU Zaria

The university has recently introduced an Automotive Engineering program that focuses on imparting skills specific to automotive mechanics, electronics, communication, advanced control, and modeling. This program is designed to contribute to the development of the country’s automotive industry by training students in this field of discipline.

Course Duration

ABU offers a 5-years Automotive Engineering program that leads to the award of a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) upon successful completion of the program. This program is fully accredited by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

Cut Off Mark

To be eligible for studying Automotive Engineering at Ahmadu Bello university University, Zaria, it is mandatory to score at least 180 (JAMB cut-off mark). However, we highly recommend that you aim to score 200 and above to increase your chances of being admitted.

For direct entry candidates here are the following requirements for an admission into this department:

  • Two (2) Advance Level (A/L)/IJMB certificates in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry are required for admission to 200 level.
  • An Upper Credit in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering National Diploma (ND) is required for admission to 200 level.
  • A minimum of Lower Credits in HND Automotive or Mechanical Engineering is required for admission to 300 level.

Jamb candidate

Jamb candidates on the other hand here are the requirements to be considered an admission:

ABU Post UTME

In order to be considered for admission into the Department of Automotive Engineering at ABU Zaria, students are required to take and pass the ABU Zaria post UTME examination, which has a specific cut-off mark. The subjects combination for the post UTME is the same as that for JAMB/UTME.
