Abubakar Tafawa Balewa university (ATBU) is a federal university based at bauchi State, the institute was founded in the 1980s, then was formerly known as Federal University of technology. The academic operations began in October 1981, when the first students were admitted into remedial and pre-degree programs.

The following year (1982) in October, degree courses in School of Science and Science Education started. The university was merged with Ahmadu Bello university Zaria for four years, before the institute demerger in 1984. The institute boost of two campuses which are:
Gubi Campus: Along Bauchi/Kano Road, Gubi, Bauchi State (main campus).
The other campus (Yelwa Campus) is located Along Bauchi/Dass Road, Yelwa, Bauchi State.

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa university’s workforce is made up of (1000) administrative staffs who are notable lecturers and professors and staff’s in other fields. Foreign Students

To qualify for ATBU Post UTME screening, Applicanta must meet the following requirements:

• Must have chosen Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University as their first choice.
• Must score a minimum of 160 in UTME and above to qualify
• In not more than two sittings, the applicants must possess at least five credit passes in relevant subjects in O’ Level, including mathematics and English Language.
• And finally, to be considered for admission you must pass the Post UTME screening test.
