The institute came into full function on the 2nd of February 1989, the institute was named after the former foreign minister of Nigeria and magajin garin Zazzau Nuhu Bamalli. The general cut off mark for this years academic session is 140/150. To be qualified for the Post UTME screening, the candidate must score 140 or above in JAMB UTME.

The 2022/2023 academic session form at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic is yet to be announced. Take note that the screening exercise will be announced very soon, while waiting for the form. Here are some of the essential things to qualify for the screening.
To qualify for the screening at NUBAPOLY, candidates must:
- Have chosen Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic as their first choice of institution during jamb registration and change of course/institute.
- Must have scored 140 and above in their Jamb.
- Must have had a minimum of 5 credits, in the most sought out subjects in o’ Level, This must be gotten in not more than two sittings.
